Next Generation has posted an interview with Nintendo of America's marketing chief George Harrison where he discusses the Wii's supply issues, the production plan for the holidays, and the potential slow-down time early next year.
While he doesn't give an exact figure for the holidays, he does say that they are currently producing about 1.8 million Wii units worldwide right now. Hopefully they'll be able to bump that number up during the next couple months because I'm sure demand will surge.
It will definitely be interesting to see whether or not it will continue to be difficult finding a Wii after the holidays as that's often when sales slump. Of course, that wasn't the case last year with the Wii as it was still selling out everywhere which apparently caught Nintendo off guard.
