Metroid fans across the world suffer a huge blow as Michael Kelbaugh, President and CEO of Retro Studios, confirms the omission of an online multiplayer mode for Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. Kelbaugh states the emphasis on making the single player mode great really didn't leave them much time to flesh out an online multiplayer mode enough to warrant it's development.
While the online component is likely to be the biggest interest in the GamePro interview, Kelbaugh does detail a few other interesting aspects to the game - such as there being 3 control schemes, reasons for all the delays, and Corruption being the end of a trilogy.
Metroid fans should definitely head on over to check out the full interview as there's some great info on the highly anticipated Wii adventure/shooter. Yes, it's disappointing that yet another Wii game will be launched without online multiplayer, but let's hope that the single player experience more than makes up for it.
